Brand New Worcester Restaurant Forced To Close After Fire

The owner hopes to reopen as soon as possible.

WORCESTER, MA — A brand new restaurant in Worcester has been forced to close after a fire broke out on Tuesday morning.

A small electrical fire occurred at Vivienne Coastal Mediterranean, a new restaurant that opened in the city's Glass Tower. The eatery, which officially opened its doors on Sept. 3, will be closed for now, according to Michael Covino, president of Niche Hospitality Group.

“While we are still assessing the extent of the situation, our top priorities are the safety of our team and neighbors and repairing the space," Covino said in a news release. "We will persevere and reopen as soon as possible for both our valued employees and guests."
