It's A Big Week For Baseball Fans In Worcester

WORCESTER, MA — It’s a big week for baseball fans in Worcester. Both the Futures League’s All-Star Game and Home Run Derby will take place in the city.

Players with the collegiate summer baseball league are all set to play on Tuesday night at Polar Park, the home of the Worcester Red Sox. This is the first time in history that this event will take place at an active Minor League Baseball park.

The evening kicks off with the Legion Game at 3 p.m. The main event will get started later, with the first pitch at 7:30 p.m. The rosters are all set with two team names - Hearts and Smiles.

But first to start the week, the league will host a Home Run Derby Monday night at Litton Field at the College of the Holy Cross.

Eight players will face off in that competition, including the reigning champion Jackson Marshall from the Worcester Bravehearts.
