WORCESTER, MA—On Wednesday, Jan. 3, Worcester's Vice Squad searched 95 Merrifield St.'s basement apartment and for a black Infinity after an investigation into an alleged heroin trafficking. Around 7:30 a.m., officers spotted the target of the investigation, Jerry Pena-Alba, 27, get into his vehicle driving away. Police pulled the car over and Pena-Alba was informed of the warrants, and he was asked to step out of the vehicle, said police. A search produced 16 grams of heroin. Seizing the key from the suspect, around 1 p.m., officers searched the home, calling in a K9 unit. The dog found a safe in a closet that had 108 grams of heroin along with $5,190 in cash in it. It also produced a large capacity magazine loaded with 90 rounds of 9mm ammunition. As a result of the seized items, Mr. Pena-Alba was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card and Trafficking in Heroin (100-199 grams).
