Lake Quinsigamond's Water Is A-OK Again
The water in Lake Quinsigamond meets the standards for swimming and boating and is no longer a threat to the public health.

WORCESTER, MA—Just in time for Memorial Day Weekend, the Lake Quinsigamond's water is OK to touch again.
That wasn't the case earlier this week, when officials warned that tests revealed it was not meeting the health requirements or standards because of high bacterial levels.
The City of Worcester Department of Inspectional Services Housing and Health Inspections Division in conjunction with both the City of Worcester Division of Public Health and the Town of Shrewsbury Board of Health has lifted the public health advisory.

A blocked sewer line on Ancona Road affected 40 homes and caused a minimal overflow into the lake. The bacteria testing received on Friday morning confirms that water in Lake Quinsigamond meets the standards for swimming and boating and is no longer a threat to the public health.
