MA State Rep. Naughton Travels To Houston, Retrieves Tom Brady Jersey

The rep issued a citation to the Houston Police Chief for locating Brady's Super Bowl 51 game-worn jersey, which went missing after the game

From State Rep.Harold P. Naughton, Jr.: State Representative Harold P. Naughton, Jr. was proud to present a citation Monday morning to the Houston Police Chief as well as the entire Department for their efforts in finding Tom Brady’s Super Bowl 51 game-worn jersey. The citation was presented on behalf of the entire Massachusetts House of Representatives as well as all of “Patriots Nation.”

Brady’s jersey from the recent Patriots’ Super Bowl victory went missing after the game and an investigation by the Houston Police Department was launched not long afterwards. The Houston Police Department partnered with the FBI and the Texas Rangers and eventually found the jersey last week in Mexico.

“As a member of Patriots Nation, I was honored to have this opportunity to thank the Houston Police Department for their valiant efforts in this ongoing investigation,” said Representative Naughton. “From meeting some of the officers in Houston, I can tell they are very good at their jobs and were extremely professional, not just carrying out this investigation, but in everything they do. I was very proud to be able to thank them for their work.”

Although Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo was not able to attend, Naughton was able to meet with some of the Department’s senior officials. Naughton presented the citation during a press conference that was held at the Houston Police Headquarters earlier this morning.

Naughton was traveling through Houston and any expenses incurred on the trip were personal in nature and paid for on his own.
