Man Allegedly Threatens With Piece Of Steel During Road Rage

A Dracut man is facing an assault charge after allegedly threatening a woman during a road rage incident in Winchester.

WINCHESTER, MA—A Dracut man is facing charges after police say he threatened a woman with a piece of steel during an alleged road rage incident.

Chief Peter MacDonnell reports that the Winchester Police Department arrested a man on Tuesday following an alleged road rage incident. Scott Lawrence, 58, Dracut is charged with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.

Just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, Winchester Police received a report from a woman who claimed that a man, later identified as Lawrence, had just threatened her with a 1 and 1/2 foot piece of steel after an alleged road rage incident.

According to the victim, he cut her off at the center's traffic rotary. When she beeped her horn, Lawrence allegedly stopped and got out of his car wielding a piece of steel and the two exchanged words, after which he drove away east on Church Street.

Shortly after Lawrence was stopped at the intersection of Church Street and Bacon Street where he was taken into custody without incident. He was arraigned at Woburn District Court on Wednesday.
