Man Wants Evidence Back, Gets Arrested: Worcester PD
A man met police at the station to see if he could get some evidence back; he was arrested on several charges.

WORCESTER, MA—A Lawrence man faces several charges after calling police to get some evidence that was seized from an apartment in Worcester.
On Friday, Nov. 24, the vice squad got a call from Genry De La Cruz, 19, South Union Street, Lawrence. According to police, De La Cruz wanted to talk to an officer about retrieving some items of evidence that were taken from his apartment on Main Street in Worcester.
De La Cruz was the target of a drug investigation in August, 2017, which resulted in a search warrant, an arrest and evidence found in the apartment. De La Cruz was not home at the time of the search.

On Monday, Nov. 27, through a series of phone calls, a vice officer arranged to meet De La Cruz at the Worcester Police Department Lobby. When he arrived, De La Cruz was immediately recognized as the man they had seen selling heroin to an undercover officer.
De La Cruz was placed under arrest based on the past investigation and charged with use of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition without an FID Card, 3 Counts of Distribution of Class A Substance, and Trafficking in Heroin (37-99 grams).
