WORCESTER, MA — Today's chilly start to the week is a reminder that summer is over and sweater weather is here, almost. Temperatures may warm up a bit more into the high 70s on Thursday but the rest of the week is cooling down to get us ready for fall.
The second day of one virtual class at Westwood High School was cut short when a Zoom bomber spammed the class with images of Hitler and obscene language on Tuesday morning. In an email to parents, Superintendent Emily Parks said the person used a fake name and typed obscenities into the chat feature on Zoom along with the images, first of a cat, and then of Hitler, as their virtual background.

Worcester took a look at the breakdown of hate crimes reported in the city in 2019 and found that more than one-third of the 12 crimes reported were against gay men. Worcester police Capt. Michael McKiernan reported the statistics on Monday night to the Human Rights Commission.
