WORCESTER, MA - The New England Patriots are reportedly hiring former Assumption University star wide receiver Ashton Grant as their Quarterbacks Coach.

Grant, a longtime assistant coach in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns, has his name in the record books at Assumption. He holds the marks for most receiving yards and touchdown receptions in school history at 3,204 and 36, and he has the most touchdown receptions in a single season at 13 in 2016.

Initially from Manchester, CT, Grant majored in criminology and spent time as an intern at the Worcester Trial Court.

His first assistant coaching job was at Holy Cross where he worked in quality control. Grant then spent almost five years with the Cleveland Browns.

Grant joins a coaching staff with lofty expectations centered around their budding signal caller, Drake Maye. New Patriots Head Coach Mike Vrabel spent last year on the Browns as a consultant, and now Grant has followed him to Foxborough with the task of helping return the Patriots to glory.

Earlier this week, the Patriots rehired long-time offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, a controversial figure in the NFL after lackluster stints with the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders. Grant is set to slide in and work alongside McDaniels to bring out the most in Maye and the rest of the offense.
