Price Chopper On Cambridge Street To Close

WORCESTER, MA - The Price Chopper at 50 Cambridge St. in Worcester will permanently close on Friday, Jan. 31. All other locations in Worcester - Park Avenue, Pullman Street, Southwest Cutoff and Sunderland Road - will remain open.

"After a thorough and thoughtful review, we determined that closing this location was necessary to align our resources with the needs of the broader market," said president of Price Chopper Blaine Bringhurst.

The 76 full- and part-time workers at the Cambridge Street location have been offered comparable positions at other stores in the area.

The in-store pharmacy will close a day early on Jan. 30. Price Chopper is working with a nearby pharmacy to transfer prescription records and ensure medication services are not interrupted.
