WORCESTER, MA — It wasn't enough for the North High School Polar Bears boys' basketball team to make history once. They had to go and do it again.

Worcester will welcome home its repeat state champion basketball team Saturday with a procession and rally. The Polar Bears won the Division 1 MIAA Championship March 17, defeating Franklin High School 59-53. The game was the pinnacle of the team's undefeated season.

The Polar Bears made history in March 2023, becoming the first basketball team from Worcester to win an MIAA D1 state basketball championship. The team beat Needham High School 73-64.
