WORCESTER, MA — The Red Sox and Yankees will play Tuesday's American League Wild Card game in Worcester. Well, kind of.

The Worcester Red Sox will open Polar Park to baseball fans on Tuesday to watch the game either outdoors on the stadium's big screen or indoors at the DCU Club. The stadium doors will open at 7 p.m. ahead of the 8:08 p.m. Red Sox-Yankees game. The stadium will have food and drinks for sale as usual.

"These events are part of our desire and commitment to attract fans to the Canal District year-round," WooSox President Charles Steinberg said in a news release. "Many fans have expressed a desire to congregate as one in their new home to watch the Red Sox and the Yankees, both of whom have players we watched this summer in Worcester."

The WooSox wrapped the team's inaugural season on Sunday, sweeping the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in a five-game series. The team will return on April 5 for the 2022 season on the road against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.
