South High School In 'Quiz Show' Tournament
Out of a pool of 99, 16 schools in Massachusetts qualified to make it into the season 9 bracket.

WORCESTER, MA—WGBH on Monday revealed the official matchup bracket for the 2018 High School Quiz Show tournament, which includes South High School in Worcester taking on Newton North High School on March 24.
Hosted again by Billy Costa, 16 Massachusetts high school student teams advanced from a pool of 99 schools to compete in the televised academic tournament. The schools competing on High School Quiz Show earned the highest scores on an oral quiz at WGBH’s “Super Sunday” qualifying event at WGBH studios in Brighton.
The season nine field includes two-time defending state champion, Lexington High School, and four schools that will appear on the show for the first time: Foxborough High School, Mansfield High School, Phillips Academy and South High Community School.

“We have an exciting set of matches on the bracket this year, including a face-off between two former champions and a newcomer versus newcomer showdown later in the season,” said High School Quiz Show Executive Producer Hillary Wells in a statement. “We all look forward to seeing the passion and academic skill that each team brings to High School Quiz Show season nine.”
All episodes premiere Saturdays at 6 p.m. on WGBH 2.
