Woman Charged In Fatal Stabbing In Ayer
A woman has been charged with assault the stabbing death of a 24-year-old Ayer man.

AYER, MA—A woman is being arraigned on charges related to the stabbing death of an Ayer man on Friday afternoon.
Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Ayer Chief of Police William Murray have confirmed on Friday evening that they are currently investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred earlier in the day in Ayer.
Around 1:18 p.m., police got a 911 call about a stabbing on Groton School Road. A 24-year-old Ayer man lay with an apparent stab wound to the torso. He was pronounced dead at Nashoba Valley Medical Center.

Investigators say that the victim was in an altercation with a 26-year-old Ayer woman who was known to him and lives in an apartment on Groton School Road. During the fight, the woman stabbed the man with a kitchen knife, said police. Police detained the woman at the scene and she has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury.
Names have not been released because the victim and the subject are related and the incident is domestic in nature.

The female will be arraigned in Ayer District Court on Monday, Oct. 1.
