WooSox Will Wear 'Black Panther' Jerseys For Superhero Promotion

WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester Red Sox will don special "Black Panther" jerseys in August as part of a Marvel superhero promotion at Polar Park.

During the Aug. 7 game against the Durham Bulls, the WooSox players will wear jerseys styled after the Wakandan superhero's costume, and fans will win prizes for dressing up as superheroes during the game.

The jerseys are part of a three-year Minor League Baseball partnership with Marvel. The WooSox will wear jerseys during at least one game over the next three seasons styled around a Marvel superhero.

The special superhero jerseys will also be up for sale. The team is selling a $133 package for the Aug. 7 game that includes a "Black Panther" jersey, a $14 credit and seats in the Yuengling Flight Deck.

"Black Panther" day at Polar Park will mark the superhero's return to Worcester. Scenes from the forthcoming "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" movie were filmed along Main Street and in the Ernest A. Johnson Tunnel in August 2021.
