Worcester Native Becomes Member of Phi Alpha Theta

Assumption College announces that Mattina Falco, of Worcester, has become a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the History National Honor Society.

From Assumption College: The Assumption College Department of History has announced that Mattina Falco, of Worcester, has become a member of Phi Alpha Theta, the History National Honor Society. Falco, Class of 2018, was inducted into the honor society on Monday, May 1.

"Phi Alpha Theta is a national organization and has been around for nearly a century. The new members in our chapter are being recognized not only as some of the best history students at Assumption College, but also as some of the top history students in the nation. This is a great honor and shows their dedication to the study of history," said Winston Black, assistant professor of history and the honor society's advisor.

Phi Alpha Theta is national honor society for undergraduate and graduate students and professors of history. The society has over 350,000 members through 860 local chapters. Assumption College's chapter, Alpha-Epsilon-Rho, was established in 1991. To qualify, undergraduate students must complete a minimum of four courses in history, achieve a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.1 in history and a GPA of 3.0, or better, overall.
