Worcester Brewery Will Close After Nearly 6 Years In Business

"This place was a special, joyful, and welcoming space, and that's entirely a reflection of the people who spent their time here."

WORCESTER, MA — Redemption Rock Brewing will close Dec. 29 after nearly six years in business. The brewery announced the move "with equal parts sadness and gratitude" on its Facebook page over the weekend.

"Despite our best efforts, we simply haven’t been able to grow the business enough to remain open," the post reads. "And we’ve run out of time."

The brewery and cafe at 333 Shrewsbury St. opened in January 2019 has a long list of traditional and unusually flavored beers like "Cran You Dig It," a cranberry and cardamom sour ale, and "I Can't Even," a pumpkin spice latte stout. They also serve shandies, espresso, kombucha, and more.

The owners wrote that before they opened, "our vision was to be a canvas for the community."

"This place was a special, joyful, and welcoming space, and that’s entirely a reflection of the people who spent their time here," the post reads.

The owners go on to thank their regulars along with the community, "the small business owners - the food trucks and pop ups, the market vendors, the workshops - who let us be a part of their dreams" and the "local musicians that filled the air in this space."

Now the brewery plans to "finish strong." Redemption Rock's hours will stay the same until they close at the end of the year, and the events calendar will also remain the same.

"Will it get crazy busy here in December? We sure hope so. And we hope you’ll come and celebrate with us as often as you can, or at least for one last beer."

The post regarding Redemption Rock's closure had garnered 941 reactions and 190 comments as of Tuesday morning.
