Worcester Candidate Raises Double The Funds Of Competitors: Report
Satya Mitra is running for City Councilor-at-Large for the first time.

WORCESTER, MA — A first-time candidate vying to be a Worcester City Councilor-at-Large has raised more than anyone else in the running.
Satya Mitra, 73, has raised more than $80 thousand, according to a report from MassLive. The 73-year-old is one of 14 candidates vying for the position.
MassLive found that some notable individuals contributed to Mitra's campaign, including Worcester Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Timothy Murray, and the President of Worcester Business Development Corp, Craig Blais.

Worcester Mayor Joseph Petty comes in second behind Mitra, according to MassLive. Petty has collected more than $54 thousand and is running for both mayor and city councilor-at-large.
