Forum Will Focus On Worcester District 1 Race Days Before Preliminary
The three candidates running for the open seat included Jenny Pacillo, David Peterson and Larry Shetler.

WORCESTER, MA — Voters in Worcester's District 1 — and anyone else interested in local politics — will get a chance to hear from candidates for the open city council seat at a forum later in August.
The forum will take place five days before the Sept. 5 preliminary, where District 1 voters will pare down the three candidates vying for the seat — Jenny Pacillo, David Peterson and Larry Shetler — to two in advance of the November general election.
The District 1 forum is being organized by former city councilor Gary Rosen, and will follow a similar forum for the District 5 candidates. The three candidates in D1 will answer prepared questions, but also get to question each other.

"Mere days before the preliminary election of Sept. 5, Jenny Pacillo, Larry Shetler and David Peterson will meet, greet and inform voters of their plans to make the district and the city a better place to live, own a business, work, go to school and to visit," Rosen said in an announcement.
Apart from districts 1 and 5, Worcester preliminary voters will also be paring down candidates in races for the District 2 and 4 council seats, and the Worcester School Committee District E race.
