Worcester Homicide Rate Reaches Highest Point In 4 Years: Report
The homicide rate in Worcester is the highest it's been in four years, according to MassLive.

WORCESTER, MA - The homicide rate in Worcester for 2024 was the highest annual total in nearly four years,according to MassLive.
16 homicides were recorded in 2024. 4 were attributed to gang violence, another four to domestic disputes and one associated with child abuse. 1 was an unintentional homicide, and the two others involved friends getting into a fight and shooting each other. These descriptions came from Interim Police Chief Paul Saucier.
MassLive obtained records showing four homicides involved a minor getting killed. 12 were killed by firearms, three stabbed to death and one was killed by blunt force.

MassLive reported that the number of homicides last year in Worcester was the most seen in at least 38 years. In 2023, there were six.
