Worcester Little League Speaks After Tasering, Brawl At Game

WORCESTER, MA — After a large brawl and the use of a Taser on a teenager at a baseball game Monday night, a Worcester little league team is speaking out about the incident.

The Joe Schwarz Little League organization declined to directly address the Monday fight at Kendrick Field along Brooks Street, but said the league is committed to its players.

"[W]e wanted to take this opportunity to reaffirm our committment to providing a safe and supportive environment for our players to play the game they love in a manner consistent with Little League's guiding principles of sportsmanship and teamwork," the statement said. "Little League is about creating the best experience for the kids, and it's on all of us to make sure that happens."

According to Worcester police, a large fight broke out between adults and teenagers around 7:30 p.m. Monday. A Worcester officer who responded to the incident used a Taser weapon on a 17-year-old after the teen kept trying to fight with another group. Two other adult men were facing assault charges, police said.
