Worcester Man Found Guilty In Deadly Drug Deal

WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester man who was accused of murder after a deadly drug deal has been sentenced, according to the district attorney's office.

Mugisha Jeanbosco, 28, has been sentenced to life in prison. He was found guilty of murdering a Fitchburg man named Leon Wilson Jr. over what prosecutors called a planned robbery that turned deadly.

Prosecutors said Jeanbosco and two others planned to steal a backpack of weed from Wilson during a drug deal on July 11, 2019. Jeanbosco allegedly ended up shooting him six times during the struggle, according to a report from the Telegram and Gazette.

The jury also convicted him of armed robbery.

Two other people were charged in connection with the killing. Jason Robinson, 39, of Fitchburg, and Jonathan Baez, 25, of Worcester, are scheduled to appear in court at the end of the month.

“It is my hope that this verdict helps bring some closure to Leon’s family and loved ones,” said DA Joseph Early in a statement.
