Worcester Teen Was At Grad Party When He Drowned In Webster Lake
The Worcester teen was a recent graduate of South High.

WORCESTER, MA—An 18-year-old Worcester man died on Saturday night after going under the water while swimming in Webster Lake, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.
The victim was identified as Christensen G. Agnant, a recent graduate of South High Community School. Worcester School Superintendent Maureen Binienda said grief counselors will be available for students and teachers at the school tomorrow.
Webster Police received a 911 call at about 7:30 p.m. reporting that a young man had gone under the water near the Lakeside boat ramp and that several people were trying to find him.

Several attempts made by the teens to rescue the young man were unsuccessful. At one point an off-duty police officer dove in to help the search. Webster Police and Fire and the Region 7 Dive Team took over the search, located the victim and brought him to shore. He was transported to Harrington Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The victim and several other teens were attending a high school graduation party nearby and had gone to Lakeside beach.
