Paris 2024: Worcester's Stephen Nedoroscik Helps Clinch Men's Gymnastics Bronze Medal
Stephen Nedoroscik's pommel horse routine helped seal up the first medal for the U.S. men's gymnastics team since 2008.

PARIS — A scintillating performance from Worcester's Stephen Nedoroscik clinched the U.S. men's gymnastics team's first Olympic medal since 2008 on Monday as the one-event specialist came up big under the brightest lights of the 2024 Paris Games.
Nedoroscik came on for the last routine of the team competition and closed out the bronze medal-winning performance as the United States held off Great Britain for third place. The routine had the feel of a clincher throughout with Nedoroscik's teammates greeting him with a giant bear hug after his dismount.
Nedoroscik scored 14.866 on the pommel horse with a routine that elicited chants of "USA! USA!" from the crowd.

The U.S. men's team was fifth in qualifying ahead of Monday's final.
Nedoroscik was the 2024 U.S. champion in the pommel horse and has won four national titles in the event. But his selection for the Olympic team was a surprise to some in that he is the only member of the team that only does one event competitively.
He was a two-time national champion in the event at Penn State.
