More than a dozen Michigan colleges were ranked among the top places to study across the nation, according to a new ranking.

More than a dozen Michigan colleges were ranked among the top places to study across the nation, according to a new ranking.

WalletHub, a personal finance company, looked at nearly 800 colleges and ranked them on seven categories, including student selectivity, cost and financing, faculty resources, campus safety, campus experience, educational outcomes and career outcomes.

The group also took student-to-faculty ratio, retention rate and net cost into account.

The University of Michigan - Ann Arbor was the top ranked college in the state at No. 46. It ranked relativity high in student selectivity at No. 53, but earned a low spot in cost and faculty at No. 642 and No. 235 respectfully. The school earned a 71.96 total score.
