2 Dead In MI Fiery Plane Crash: Reports

Officials were still working to identify the victims and notify next of kin​.

KENT COUNTY, MI — Two people were killed in a small airplane crash in Michigan on Monday, according to multiple reports.

The crash happened at 5:20 p.m. in the area of Vergennes Street and Lincoln Lake Avenue in Vergennes Township, which is roughly 17 miles east of Grand Rapids, officials said.

The crash site is also less than a mile from Lowell City Airport.

Officials said the plane involved in the crash was a Vans RV-14.

Both the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and NTSB were investigating and trying to determine what caused the crash.
