3 Killed After Train Hits Car In West Michigan

The Amtrak night train was bound for Chicago when it collided with a vehicle and killed all three passengers.

KALAMAZOO, MI — Three people were killed over the weekend when their car collided with a night train near Kalamazoo, according to reports.

Oshtemo Township Fire Chief Mark Barnes told WOOD-TV that no one aboard the Amtrak train was injured in the accident but that everyone in the car died in the collision.

It happened about 10 p.m. Sunday, just west of Kalamazoo, according to reports.

According to Amtrak, the train was bound for Chicago.

The victims have not yet been identified and the accident is still under investigation.
