4 MI Macy’s Stores To Close
Macy's is closing four Michigan stores, including two in the metro Detroit area.

MICHIGAN — Macy’s is moving forward with plans announced last February to close 66 stores, including four in Michigan, the iconic department store chain said Thursday.
The majority of the stores are expected to close in the first quarter of 2025, the company said. Over three years in a plan described as Macy’s “Bold New Chapter,” the company plans to close 150 underperforming stores while at the same time investing more heavily in 350 stores that will remain open, according to a news release.
Macy’s stores closing in Michigan are:

After the closings, there will be ten Macy's stores still open in Michigan, including in Ann Arbor, Dearborn, Grandville, Kentwood, Novi, Okemos, Portage, Saginaw, Taylor and Troy (Somerset Collection).
"Closing any store is never easy, but as part of our Bold New Chapter strategy, we are closing underproductive Macy’s stores to allow us to focus our resources and prioritize investments in our go–forward stores, where customers are already responding positively to better product offerings and elevated service," Macy’s chairman and CEO Tony Spring said in the news release.
