5 Kids Among 8 Injured In MI Crash Involving Amish Buggy: Police
This is the second crash involving an Amish buggy in Michigan within a week.
MONTCALM COUNTY, MI — Eight people, including five children were injured in a Tuesday crash involving a pickup truck and an Amish buggy in Montcalm County, according to Michigan State Police.
The crash happened Tuesday on Dickerson Lake Road, east of M-91, in Montcalm Township, according to police.
Police said the pickup truck tried to pass the horse-drawn buggy that was carrying seven people, but noticed an oncoming vehicle. The pickup truck driver then returned to their lane and struck the buggy, according to police.

Five children who were in the horse-drawn buggy were taken to a nearby hospital where they were listed in serious to critical condition, according to police.
An adult woman, who was in the buggy, was also critically injured, while a man suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to police.

The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to police.
Police were still investigating the crash.
