Biden Slated To Visit Detroit GM Plant On Wednesday

The president was last in Michigan in early October when he promoted both his infrastructure and Build Back Better domestic agenda.

President Joe Biden is scheduled to travel to Detroit Wednesday to visit the the General Motors Factory ZERO, Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center.

At the electric vehicle assembly plant, he is slated to tout the benefits of the bipartisan infrastructure deal, which includes building electric vehicle charging stations across the country, reducing emissions to fight the climate crisis and creating union jobs.

The $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill passed earlier this month and includes significant funding for Michigan: $7.3 billion for road repairs, $563 million for bridge replacement and repairs, $1 billion for public transportation improvements, $1.3 billion for water infrastructure, $100 million for expanding high-speed internet access, and $110 million for electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Biden is expected to sign the legislation Monday.
