When describing seventeen-year-old Kaylee, her worker can’t help but smile.
“Kaylee has this contagious, bubbly, goofy personality,” she says, “and loves to joke around. She loves to smile and laugh, and she’s that typical teenage girl who loves to shop, do her nails, and listen to music. She loves Christian music and has a beautiful voice!”

“She’s also incredibly kind,” her worker continues. “She is a very caring girl. She will check up on people if she hasn’t seen them or learns that something is wrong. She thrives on connections with others and cares about everyone.”
Kaylee also cares about animals – and she loves to draw them. She began drawing when she was four years old.

“I color, I paint,” says Kaylee, who usually has a picture finished to give her worker when they see each other.
“I usually draw cats, dogs...and unicorns. Don’t ask me how I can draw a unicorn but not a horse,” she laughs.
Kaylee enjoys school.
“My favorite subject is science,” she states. “My excitement for school is seeing my friends and doing my schoolwork and science experiments.”
“What I want to be when I grow up is a vet. I want to be a vet because I love animals, and I grew up with animals. I grew up taking care of dogs, cats, horses, chickens, cows...”
“Kaylee would love to live on a horse farm,” says her worker. “She is a nature person and would prefer to be outside rather than watching TV.
“She really wants to be adopted by a forever family and would need positive motivation and reinforcement, structure, and one-on-one attention. Those with pets and a strong female figure in the home would be ideal.
“Kaylee understands why she can’t be with her real family,” her worker shares. “She will say, ‘It’s because they can’t properly take care of me.’ But Kaylee also knows that she deserves to be loved. She cherishes the memory of her family and shares with other kids the bottled-up care she has felt. You’ll have a forever friend in Kaylee, as she is loyal and kind.
“She is eager to build lasting connections, share joyful experiences, and continue developing her passions. With the right support and encouragement, Kaylee will flourish in a home that embraces her for the amazing young woman she is.”
Kaylee has great hope of being adopted and imagines her new family would say about her, “Kaylee’s fun, she’s amazing, she’s really kind. Um, she loves animals, she can really draw and, um, she’s pretty fun to hang out with.”
Kaylee adds, “It’s important to adopt teens because teens need somewhere to live, someone to love them, and someone to care for them – someone, so they know someone loves and cares for them.”
