Elon Musk’s DOGE Closes Another Federal Office In MI: Report
The agency claims it has saved more than $1.3 million across Michigan through closings and cuts.

ANN ARBOR, MI — The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has closed the United States Fish and Wildlife Service office located in Ann Arbor, according to an MLive report.
DOGE claims on its website that the closure will save taxpayers and the federal government $336,220.
While the office is no longer listed on the U.S. Fish and Wildlife website, there are still 19 U.S. Fish and Wildlife offices operating in Michigan.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, which is a bureau under the U.S. Department of the Interior, aims to conserve and manage "fish, wildlife, plants and their habitats," according to the agency's website. It's also the nation's oldest conservation agency, established in 1871.
DOGE, which is led by billionaire Elon Musk, is tasked with slashing the budgets of numerous government agencies through staff cuts and the canceling of grants, contracts, and leases.

The agency claims it has saved $1,361,264 across Michigan through closings and cuts. Overall, the group claims to have saved the federal government $130 billion, though officials haven't provided hard evidence of the savings.
