Former MI Senator Ends Bid For Congress, Enters Secretary Of State Race
Former state Senator Adam Hollier said his focus will be on protecting elections from being rigged.

Michigan Democrat and former state Senator Adam Hollier announced Wednesday that he is dropping his bid for Congress and will now run for Michigan Secretary of State.
Hollier, was planning a third run for Michigan's 13th Congressional District, a seat currently held by Shri Thanedar, but decided to change course and focus on protecting elections from being rigged, he said.
Hollier also said will work to remove barriers to voting, boost voter turnout, make it easier to register to vote and making sure local clerks have the resources needed to conduct elections.

"Our fundamental rights are under attack like never before. Donald Trump and his MAGA allies have put everything from free and fair elections to the right to vote on the chopping block," he said in a press release announcing his bid for SOS.
Hollier joins Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum and Aghogho Edevbie, Michigan’s deputy secretary of state under Jocelyn Benson, in the battle for the party’s nomination next August.

Hollier, who is also a member of the Army Reserves, was considered a front-runner for the 13th Congressional seat, which is primarly in Detroit. He was one of 10 candidates in the Democratic primary for the seat in 2022 when he was narrowly beaten out by Thanedar.
