Four-Month-Old Baby Dies After MI Crash Involving Amish Buggy: Police
Four other children and their mother were also injured in the crash, according to Michigan State Police.
MONTCALM COUNTY, MI — An infant has died following a Tuesday crash involving a pickup truck and an Amish buggy in Montcalm County, according to Michigan State Police.
The four-month-old baby girl was one of five children who were injured in the crash that happened Tuesday on Dickerson Lake Road, east of M-91, in Montcalm Township, according to police.
A 2-year-old boy remains in critical condition, while a 1-year-old girl was in stable condition, according to police.

Two children, also under the age of 5, were treated and released from the hospital, according to police.
The children's 24-year-old mother was still hospitalized in stable condition, according to police.

Police said the horse had to be euthanized due to its injuries and suffering.
Police said the pickup truck tried to pass the horse-drawn buggy that was carrying seven people, but noticed an oncoming vehicle. The pickup truck driver then returned to their lane and struck the buggy, according to police.
The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to police.
Police were still investigating the crash.
This is the second crash involving an Amish buggy in Michigan within a week.
