The best hotel in Michigan is in the metro Detroit area, according to a 2025 U.S. News and World Report ranking.

The Saint John’s Resort in Plymouth beat out Mackinac Island’s Grand Hotel for the top spot in the ranking. Moreover, the Saint John’s Resort also earned the No. 1 spot for best hotel resort and best business hotel in Michigan.

The Saint John’s Resort sits on roughly 200 acres along Five Mile Road in Plymouth. It features multiple ballrooms, including the brand new Monarch Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 1,500 guests.

The resort also has a golf course, called the Cardinal, which spans more than 200 acres. It hosted the LIV Golf Team Championship in late August.
