From pristine sandy beaches in the summer to a winter wonderland in the winter, there is always something to explore in these towns throughout the year.

St. Joseph
Located along the southern shores of Lake Michigan, St. Joseph is a lively resort town with beaches comparable to those of the Atlantic and Pacific coasts.
Grand Haven
Lying along both the Grand River and Lake Michigan, the lakefront town offers a plethora of opportunities, including beautiful summer beaches, salmon fishing in the fall and downhill skiers in the winter.

Indian River
Indian River sits between Burt Lake and Mullet Lake, and offers travelers the chance to relax on the lakeside shores of DeVoe Beach Park and Veterans Pier, or a township park nestled at where Indian River meets Burt Lake.
South Haven
South Haven is located along Lake Michigan (just 30 minutes north of St. Joseph) and is rich in maritime history and culture.
The website recommends travelers to the Harbor Walk, which stretches from pierhead to pierhead, and features historic markers along the Black River, as well as scenic views of the river, lake and harbor.
Holland
Holland, which sits on Lake Macatawa, is a charming town with a rich Dutch influence, and is best known for its pristine beaches in the summer, the website says.
To immerse yourself in Dutch culture, the website recommends travelers to take a tour of the Windmill Island Gardens, home to De Zwaan Windmill, which is the only authentic operating Dutch windmill in the country.
Charlevoix
Charlevoix lies on a strip of land between Lake Charlevoix and Lake Michigan, meaning that visitors are never more than a short walk away from its beaches, the website says.
The website also encourages travelers to check out Charlevoix’s shops, boutiques or cafes.
Cadillac
Cadillac sits along both Lake Cadillac and Lake Michell, which are both great destinations for anglers looking for fish such as northern pike, walleye and bass.
