Ice, Sleet Warnings Remains In Effect Until 1 p.m. Wednesday

Here's a look at the accumulation hitting Southeastern Michigan Wednesday, creating treacherous road conditions most of the day.

SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN — Freezing rain and sleet will continue to accumulate Wednesday morning, prompting special weather alerts and weather advisories around the region.

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 p.m. Wednesday for widespread freeing rain with some sleet. Ice accumulations of around a tenth of an inch are possible, with more in some locations. Portions of Southeastern Michigan along and south of the I-69 corridor will be hit the hardest, according to the National Weather Service.

Treacherous and slick travel conditions are likely, especially on untreated roadways, bridges, exit ramps, and overpasses. Motorists should anticipate highly variable driving conditions based on treated versus untreated roadways. Isolated power outages will be possible due to ice accumulations, forecasters warn.

There will be slippery roads and limited visibilities, so use caution on the road.

There will be east winds around 10 mph with gusts of 15 mph and air temperatures will range between 29 and 32 degrees.
