Metro Detroit Man Dies In Snowmobile Crash In Northern MI: Police

Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

MACKINAC COUNTY, MI — A man died after he crashed his snowmobile in Michigan's Upper Peninsula over the weekend, according to Michigan State Police.

The crash happened at 1 p.m. Saturday along Trail 47 on Bay City Lake Road in Clark Township, according to police.

Police said the 61-year-old Saline man was riding his snowmobile along the trail when he hit a bump and was thrown from the snowmobile.

Officials provided medical care, but he died at the scene, according to police.
