Metro Detroit Man Wins $2M Powerball Prize From Michigan Lottery
He plans to share his winnings with his family.

SOUTHFIELD, MI — A Southfield man said winning a $2 million Powerball prize from the Michigan Lottery was a "blessing" for his family, according to lottery officials.
Ralph Davis, 74, matched the five white balls (14-31-35-64-69)in the Jan. 18 Powerball drawing to win a $1 million prize, which was then doubled to $2 million thanks to the Power Play, according to lottery officials.
Davis bought his winning ticket at Sage Beer and Wine, located at 3008 Greenfield Road in Royal Oak, according to lottery officials.

Davis told lottery officials he always buys his Powerball ticket from the same store.
"The day after the drawing, my wife sat down to check the tickets," Davis said. "When she said to me: ‘We won the Lottery!’ I was thinking we’d won $50 or something. That’s when she said: ‘No, it’s $1 million times two!'"

Davis said he was "floored" and looked over the ticket 30 times.
"Winning is such a blessing for my family," Davis said. "We can give more to charities and share this with the people who mean the most to us."
Davis said he plans to share his winnings with his family.
