MI Gas Prices Hit 2025 High: AAA

Gas prices across Michigan hit a 2025 high after jumping 20 cents from last week, according to AAA.

MICHIGAN — Gas prices across Michigan hit a 2025 high Monday, according to AAA.

The average price for a regular gallon of gas across Michigan on Monday was $3.28, 20 cents higher than last week but 23 cents cheaper than this time in 2024, according to AAA.

AAA also said gas prices in the metro Detroit area jumped Monday, averaging $3.30 for a regular gallon of gas. That's 14 cents higher than last week but still 23 cents cheaper than this time in 2024, according to AAA.

Overall, Michigan drivers are paying an average of $49 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline, according to AAA.

"Drivers across Michigan are seeing the highest gas prices so far this year," AAA Spokesperson Adrienne Woodland said. "Pump prices will likely face upward pressure if crude oil prices continue to rise."

The most expensive places to get gas in Michigan were in Ann Arbor ($3.33), Grand Rapids ($3.30) and metro Detroit ($3.29), according to AAA.

The cheapest places to get gas were in Marquette ($3.03), Traverse City ($3.21) and Benton Harbor ($3.23), according to AAA.
