The ranking, by 101 Best Steak Restaurants, placed Detroit's Prime + Proper at No. 20. The restaurant is best-known for its USDA Prime beef, certified Japanese Wagyu, lamb and duck.
To determine their ranking, Upper Cut Media House based the restaurants on specific categories, including its quality of meat, variety of meat cuts, their expertise in meat, detailed menus, wine list and more.

The organization has two to four ambassadors that evaluate the steakhouses. The inspectors include awarded chefs, certified meat and Wagyu masters, food journalists and more.
