MI Sugar Company Worker Dies In Workplace Accident Involving Payloader: Police

Investigators were still trying to determine the events leading up to the accident.

CROSWELL, MI — A Michigan Sugar Company worker died Tuesday in a workplace accident, according to police.

The incident happened at 6:08 Tuesday at the Michigan Sugar Company’s ground piling facility in Croswell, according to police.

Police said the 41-year-old man was struck by a payloader. He was taken to a nearby hopsital where he died, according to police.

Investigators did not identify the man and were still trying to determine the events leading up to the accident.

"Our hearts and prayer(s) go out to the man’s family, friends, co-workers and all those affected by this heartbreaking loss," police said in a statement.
