More Accumulating Snow This Weekend: MI Weather

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Another snowstorm is expected to hit southeastern Michigan this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters believe the storm will come in waves and be spread out over the entire weekend, according to the weather service.

The first round of snow is excepted to fall Friday night, dumping 3 inches of fresh snow across southeastern Michigan, according to the weather service.

An additional 2 inches of fresh snow is expected across the region through the afternoon hours Saturday, according to the weather service.

As temperatures in the region climb above freezing Saturday, the snow may shift into rain and sleet in some areas, creating a light wintry mix during the evening hours, according to the weather service.

By the nighttime hours Saturday, the wintry mix will shift back to snow, which will continue through the overnight hours, according to the weather service.

The heaviest snow of the storm will fall Sunday morning and continue falling across the region throughout the morning hours, according to the weather service.

Looking into next week, temperatures in the area will plunge with highs in the teens and lows falling into the single digits with below zero wind chills, according to the weather service.
