More Storms Expected Friday Amid Summer-Like Heat: MI Weather

The forecasted storms come less than 24 hours after a powerful line of storms rolled across the state and caused widespread damage.

MICHIGAN — More showers and thunderstorms are expected across Michigan on Friday, just after a powerful line of storms caused widespread power outages and triggered several tornado warnings, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters expect the storms to begin moving across west Michigan sometime between 8 and 11 p.m. Friday. The storms are expected to move into southeastern Michigan around midnight and into the overnight hours.

Forecasters do not expect these storms to be as strong as Thursday's storms, but they warned the storms can still produce heavy downpours, large hail and winds reaching up to 55 miles per hour.

An overnight cool front will then knock temperatures across Michigan back into the 60s. That trend will continue into next week, according to the weather service.
