Mother, Daughter Found Dead Inside Brighton Home

BRIGHTON, MI — A mother and her young daughter were found dead inside their Brighton apartment on Monday, according to reports. The mother appears to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and though the girl appears to suffered no visible signs of trauma, some reports are calling it a murder-suicide.

WDIV reported that the girl is under the age of 10. According to the report, the father had police conduct a welfare check on the pair when they discovered they were dead.

Police say they may have been dead inside the home for up to five days before they were found.
