MSU Student Arrested After Posting Threat Against University: Police

Police said there is no current threat to the community​.

EAST LANSING, MI — An 18-year-old Michigan State University student may face charges after police said she made a threat against the school online.

Officers arrested the woman in connection with the threat at 2:52 p.m. Wednesday at an address in the 800 block of Chestnut in East Lansing, according to university police.

The woman was placed in jail at the Ingham County Sheriff's Office, according to university police.

Officials are seeking felony charges from the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office.

The threat was posted anonymously online at 2 p.m. Wednesday, according to university police.

Police said there is no current threat to our community.

On Feb. 13, 2023, three students: Brian Fraser, Arielle Anderson and Alexandria Verner were fatally shot at the university. The gunman later shot himself to death.
