Naked Man Breaks Into Metro Detroit Home, Attacks Homeowner: Sheriff

The man was charged with home invasion, assaulting police, resisting and obstructing and indecent exposure, according to police.

MONROE COUNTY, MI — A naked man was arrested Monday night after breaking into a Monroe County home and assaulting the homeowner twice, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

The incident started at 8:30 p.m. Monday when officers received calls about a naked man saying odd things and behaving strangely at a business in the 8800 block of Swan Creek Road in Berlin Township, according to officials.

Witnesses told officers the naked man then ran away from the business, leaving his vehicle behind on Swan Creek Road, according to officials.

While officers were searching for the naked man, another witness called 911 and told officers the man was on the 3600 block of Law Street, according to officials.

The caller also told officers the naked man then broke into a nearby home and when confronted, assaulted the homeowner, according to officials.

The naked man was leaving the home when officers arrived, and tried to get back inside the home as the homeowner was holding the door shut, according to officials.

Officials said the naked man assaulted the homeowner again while trying to get back inside the home, according to officials.

Officials then arrested the naked man in connection with the break-in and assault, as he fought officers, according to officials.

The man, whose name was not released, is 34-years-old and from New York, and was placed in the Monroe County Jail, according to officials.

He was charged with home invasion, assaulting police, resisting and obstructing and indecent exposure.
