Hiker Rescued From Cliff Near Popular MI Landmark
Officials said the hiker was climbing a cliff when he went over and got stuck.
MACKINAC ISLAND, MI — A hiker was rescued from a Mackinac Island cliff Thursday, according to the island's fire department.
Mackinac Island Fire Chief Jason St. Onge said the hiker was climbing a cliff near the island's Arch Rock when the man went over the cliff and got stuck.
Photos posted to social media showed officials using a line to pull the stuck hiker back up the trail.

"In my 35 years on the department, this is probably our 15th technical line rescue, maybe more," Onge said in a Facebook post. "It was great to listen in on the radio to the members getting it done."
Arch Rock features a natural limestone arch that is more than 50 feet wide, making it a popular landmark for tourists. It stands more than 140 feet above Lake Huron waters, according to Mackinac State Historic Parks.
