Snowstorm Blasts MI's U.P. With 2 Feet of Snow: See Snow Totals Here

Areas along the Lake Superior shoreline saw the highest snowfall totals, according to the National Weather Service.

MICHIGAN — A March snowstorm blasted parts of the Upper Peninsula with blizzard conditions that dumped nearly two feet of snow, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds reached up to 60 miles per hour with snowfall rates reaching up to an inch per hour across most of the region on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the weather service.

Areas along the Lake Superior shoreline saw the highest snowfall totals, including Marquette County, which saw up to 24 inches of snow, according to the weather service.

The NWS Marquette office topped its daily snowfall record for March 5 when 20.3 inches of fresh fell on Wednesday, according to the weather service.

The previous record was 15.8 inches that was set in 2021, according to the weather service.
