The first half of the week will be pleasant across southeastern Michigan, before a heat wave hits the region, forecasters said.

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — The first half of the week will be pleasant across southeastern Michigan, before a heat wave hits the region, according to the National Weather Service.

Below-average highs with low humidity will settle across the region on Monday and Tuesday, the weather service said.

A warming trend then pushes highs into the 90s with heat indices climbing toward triple digits Wednesday through Friday, the weather service said.

There will also be a chance for thunderstorms across the region on Thursday and Friday, the weather service said.

While not quite as hot, weekend highs will still be in the upper 80s, the weather service said.

Tuesday: Sunny; High 81, Low 63

Wednesday: Sunny; High 89, Low 73
